HBOC Members Photography Badges

The Hunter Region is home to over 450 species of wild birds and many people keep a separate list of Hunter birds seen. HBOC has a 300, 350 and 400 Club to reward with a badge, members and non-members who reach these numbers of birds seen.

Seeing birds is one thing but getting a photograph can be quite a bit more challenging.

The Photography sub-committee has decided to add an additional challenge for HBOC members and will reward members for the number of Hunter birds photographed. This idea is not new but is being re-promoted to inspire friendly competition, provide a fun reason to take photographs and to encourage members to report birds seen.

Badges are available for three levels, 200 Photo Badge, 250 Photo Badge and 300 Photo Badge.

You can obtain your badge by contacting the BIL Manager (birdimages@hboc.org.au)  or HBOC Secretary (secretary@hboc.org.au).

To be eligible birds must be wild and photographed in the Hunter Region as defined in the HBOC Annual Bird Report. It is advisable to keep a list of Hunter birds photographed that can be vetted if necessary (only for the 300 and 350 Photo Badges).

Your badge will be presented to you at the next HBOC activity you attend or posted to you. Your attainment may also be acknowledged in HBOC publications.

We look forward to receiving your nominations.
