HBOC formed in 1976 as a group within the Newcastle Flora and Fauna Society, and has since grown to a 450-strong club with a substantial reputation. Over 1976-2025, the club has had 13 Presidents (originally they were called Convenor), 15 Vice-Presidents, 14 Honorary Secretaries and eight Honorary Treasurers, and 70 people have served at least one year as a member of the club’s Management Committee (multiple years for most of them). We are grateful for all of the commitment and effort from all of them.
